જો $A, B, C$ એ યાદચ્છિક પ્રયોગ સાથે સંકળાયેલ ત્રણ ઘટનાઓ હોય,તો સાબિત કરો કે $P(A \cup B \cup C) = P(A) + P(B) + P(C) - P(A \cap B) - P(A \cap C) - P(B \cap C) + P(A \cap B \cap C)$.

$E = B \cup C$ લો,જેથી
$P(A \cup B \cup C) = P(A \cup E)$
$= P(A) + P(E) - P(A \cap E)$ ...... $(1)$
હવે
$P(E) = P(B \cup C)$
$= P(B) + P(C) - P(B \cap C)$ ......... $(2)$
વળી $A \cap E = A \cap (B \cup C) = (A \cap B) \cup (A \cap C)$ [યોગ પર છેદના વિભાજનના ગુણધર્મનો ઉપયોગ કરતા].
તેથી,$P(A \cap E) = P(A \cap B) + P(A \cap C) - P[(A \cap B) \cap (A \cap C)]$
$= P(A \cap B) + P(A \cap C) - P(A \cap B \cap C)$ ......... $(3)$
$(2)$ અને $(3)$ નો $(1)$ માં ઉપયોગ કરતા,આપણને મળે છે
$P(A \cup B \cup C) = P(A) + P(B) + P(C) - P(B \cap C) - P(A \cap B) - P(A \cap C) + P(A \cap B \cap C)$.
