Vedclass · Answer

(A) Mycorrhiza is a symbiotic association between a fungus and the roots of higher plants. The fungal hyphae absorb essential nutrients, particularly phosphorus, from the soil and pass them to the plant. In return, the plant provides the fungus with carbohydrates. Therefore, the primary function of mycorrhiza is the absorption of nutrients from the soil.
