(C) Pollination by water (hydrophily) is quite rare in flowering plants and is limited to about $30$ genera, mostly monocotyledons. In many aquatic plants such as $Vallisneria$ and $Hydrilla$, pollination occurs through water. However, in many other aquatic plants like $Water ext{ } hyacinth$ $(Eichhornia)$ and $Water ext{ } lily$, the flowers emerge above the level of water and are pollinated by insects or wind, similar to most land plants. Therefore, $Water ext{ } hyacinth$ does not show pollination by water.
